Websites for e-filing Income Tax Return Online – AY 2014-15

It’s month of July and as every year we need to file our tax returns again for FY 2013-14 (AY 2014-15) by July 31, 2014. And I am sure many of you still might be wondering where to start? Well in this post I would list 6 websites which you can use to file your income tax returns.

1. ClearTax.in

I am fan of cleartax.in and I used its service last year.

They have made the process really simple. As most of us get Form 16 online now, you need to upload this Form 16 to the website; it automatically picks the relevant fields from that and fill the income tax return form for you.

You just need to check if all the values are correct and proceed to next. If you want to add some income or exemption which is not in your Form 16, you can add that manually.

Based on your income details, it automatically selects the right IT return form for you. I think this is as easy as it can get especially for people with only salaried and/or interest income.

The best part its FREE.

It also has CA assisted Plans with the following cost structure:

2. MyITReturn.com

It has 5 plans you can choose from.

If the salary/pension income is less than Rs 5 lakhs and there is no tax due or refund then the filing is free, otherwise the prices varies from Rs 299 to Rs 1,499.

There are also some value added services priced as below:

I think except for the “review by an Expert” other services are not worth it.

3. Taxspanner.com

The price for e-filing on TaxSpanner.com varies from Rs 449 to Rs 4,499. It too has help from Tax expert at a price.

The advantage is you need not share your data with any third party websites. You can never be sure of the data security no matter what other websites claim.

  1. Honestly, you have left sites like http://hamaratax.com which have no bells and whistles yet does the e-filing job fine. It is such small sites who are more customer oriented than sites which uses automatic tools and scripts.
