Indian Post Office Holidays for 2013

According to Postal Directorate orders, Indian Post office would remain closed on the following days in 2013.

  1. Birthday of Prophet Mohammad 25-January-2013
  2. Republic Day 26-January-2013
  3. Good Friday 29-March-2013
  4. Mahavir Jayanti 24-April-2013
  5. Budda Purnima 25-May-2013
  6. Idu’l Fitr 9-August-2013
  7. Independence Day 15-August-2013
  8. Mahatma Gandhi’s Birthday 2-October-2013
  9. Dussehra 13-October-2013
  10. Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) 16-October-2013
  11. Diwali (Deepavali) 3-November-2013
  12. Muharram 14-November-2013
  13. Guru Nanak’s Birthday 17-November-2013
  14. Chirstmas Day 25-December-2013

In addition to the above three holidays can be chosen from the below list at state level. The leaves should be chosen in advance and shall not be changed for the year.

  1. An Additional Day for Dussehra
  2. Holi
  3. Janamashtami (Vaishnavi)
  4. Ram Navami
  5. Maha Shivratri
  6. Ganesh Chaturthi / Vinayak Chaturthi
  7. Makar Sankaranti
  8. Rath Yatra
  9. Onam
  10. Pongal
  11. Sri Panchami / Basanta Panchami
  12. Vishu/ Vaisakhi / Vaisakhadi / Bhag Bihu / Mashadi Ugadi / Chaitra Sukladi / Cheti Chand / Gudi Padava/1st Navratra / Nauraj/Chhath Pooja/Karva Chauth.

For Delhi the chosen dates are:

  1. Holi 27-March-2013
  2. Rama Navami 19-April-2013
  3. Janmashtami 28-August-2013
