EPFO the body managing the EPF has come out with the notification that all EPF subscribers need to link their Aadhaar to their EPF UAN by September 30, 2017 else they might have to re-register. However all international workers in India are exempted from the same as they are not eligible for Aadhaar.

Other than the mandatory stuff, linking Aadhaar helps in faster processing of transfer or withdrawal request. After aadhaar linkage, the process becomes simple and both transfer & withdrawal of EPF can be done online.

How to Link EPF UAN to Aadhaar Online?
Linking Aadhaar to UAN is simple as we show you below with screenshots.
Step 1: Login to EPFO Unified EPF Portal using UAN & Password

Step 2: In the Home page Select Manage >> KYC from the menu

Step 3: On next page a Form appears where you can update Bank details, PAN details, Aadhaar/Aadhaar Enrolment Number, Passport, Driving License, Election Card, Ration Card or NPR.
As we want to update Aadhaar, select by ticking the box and enter your Aadhaar Number and Name as it appears on your Aadhaar card. Click on Save!
You can enter Aadhaar enrollment number in case you have applied for aadhaar but yet to receive it.
Please Note that many of EPF subscribers are facing issues in linkage as the credentials in UAN do not match to Aadhaar. I faced problem of “Invalid Gender details for AADHAAR authentication” because my gender was not updated in UAN.
You might face issues such as Name Mismatch, Date of Birth Mismatch or something in similar lines. The only solution is to contact your employer and they can update the EPF details in few days.

Step 4: After update the Aadhaar details are visible under “Pending KYC” tab.
Step 5: In around 2 to 3 weeks’ time the linkage is approved and the details are now under “Approved KYC” tab.
How to Link EPF UAN to Aadhaar Offline?
There is provision to link Aadhaar to UAN through Common Services Centers or EPFO Field Offices. Subscribers and Pensioners can take their UAN and Aadhaar card to these centers and they will help them link EPF UAN to Aadhaar.
